All classes will be held in the brand new, comfortable and well light classroom at Atkinson Farm Yarns. Completed during the fall of 2009, this addition to the shop was designed and custom made with knitters and spinners in mind.  You will find plenty of seating around welcoming tables that allow us to spread out and at the same time be cozy enough to chat.

I am very excited to announce a lace class that will start in January 2012. Several of you have asked for an intermediate to advanced lace class and I think I have found just the project. KnitSpot (http://www.knitspot.com/knitting_pattern) is a new series of patterns that I am carrying and I have, and I think you will as well, fallen in love with Anne Hanson’s patterns. These patterns are some of the most well written patterns that I have ever seen…they even tell you when to place the markers so as to break the complicated-looking pattern into very manageable baby steps. The pattern that we will be using for the lace class is Honey Baby. This item can be worked as a baby blanket or shawl depending upon the yarn you choose. I have plenty of patterns in stock and the several of the new yarns for fall 2011 are ideal for either a baby blanket or a shawl.

You will learn how to adjust your needles to acheieve gauge, shape a raglan bodice, pick up collar and front bands as well as make button holes, finish and block.  You will have my instruction and companionship of other knitters at your level. These skills will give you the confidence to try many other things. Come in and sign up and I will assist you in chosing the yarn to best suit your desired sweater.
